TERÁPIÁS KUTYA FELVEZETŐ

I graduated from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2006 with a degree in transportation engineering, specializing in aviation. In 2008, I received my first assistance dog, a Labrador mix named Borka, from the Dog for Humans Foundation (KEA). I came into closer contact with the work of KEA through their trainers and gained experience in the basics of assistance dog training.

  • I worked as a volunteer at the foundation (KEA) in 2009-2010, my task was to maintain contact with potential farmers.
  • In the fall of 2009, I participated in the dog trainer seminar of our German sister organization, the Hundezentrum Canis Familiaris.
  • In December 2010, I completed the Application Writing and Monitoring Master Course announced by the DM Education Center.
  • I have been working as a volunteer at the NEO Hungarian Assistance Dog Association since its establishment (2011). My duties include various administrative activities, managing the assistance dog program for the disabled, and I also participate in the work as a training apprentice.
  • In 2012 I passed the Habilitation Dog Training Exam – Hungarian Therapy and Assistance Dog Association

Over the years, Borka and I have been members of the assistance dog demonstration group. We assisted in the international research work of the Department of Ethology of Eötvös Loránd University: LIREC project – Social Robot (2010). I have spoken out for the rights of assistance dogs in the mainstream media on several occasions. Since 2012, I have been the foster parent of a labradoodle dog, Joya, who has given me a great opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of assistance dog training. Life has brought us such that Borka had to be retired due to health reasons, so Joya and I are already preparing for the assistance dog exam for the disabled. We also go to many demonstrations and sensitization lectures with him, so in the spring of 2013 we also passed the therapy exam.
