Awareness-raising activity for adults

AWARENESS RAISING ACTIVITY FOR ADULTS

Our primary goal is to shape the attitudes of potential employees of people with disabilities, increase their acceptance and employment, and reduce discrimination. In the training based on our own experiences, we introduce participants to the basic opportunities of people with visual, hearing and mobility impairments, and the applicability of assistive devices. With the personal life situations of our speakers, we would like to indicate that people with disabilities can also do meaningful work. By involving assistance dogs, we can ensure a positive, inclusive attitude. The positive changes that can be achieved in the target group are:

– getting to know the most important concepts related to vision, movement and hearing impairment,

– gaining personal experience with the difficulties of people with various disabilities and the assistive devices they use,

– what does an accessible workplace mean for people with mobility, hearing or vision impairments,

Our speakers with various disabilities can authentically convey the importance of equal opportunities and that they can do useful work despite their limitations (e.g., a disabled customer service representative, a hearing-impaired project manager). During the introduction of our Association and themselves, they provide exemplary information about the employment opportunities for people with disabilities (e.g., we train our dogs ourselves, and most of the farmers involved have successful careers).
