ABOUT US
WHO ARE WE?
A NEO Hungarian Assistance Dog Public Benefit Association (NEO MSKKE)was founded in 2011 by a small group of friends full of big dreams, consisting of owners of hearing, vision and mobility impaired assistance dogs. We were surprised ourselves when, in a short time, our activities aroused the interest of several of our fellow citizens and others: now 50 volunteers actively support the operation of the Association. Most of our employees are professionals with four-legged assistance dogs (e.g. habilitation dog trainers, special education teachers-sociologists, psychologists).ANEO MSKKEOne of its main goals is to advocate for the interests of people with disabilities and promote their social integration with specially trained assistance dogs. Our profile includes several types of assistance dogs:
- hearing-impaired assistance (beeper) dog,
- disabled assistance dog,
- seizure detection dog (e.g. for people with diabetes or epilepsy),
- personal assistance dog (e.g. visually impaired assistance dog, autistic assistance dog),
- therapy dog.
A NEO MSKKE Another mission is to shape a broad social perspective by involving assistance dogs: the aim of our interactive programs is not only to promote integration and equal opportunities by introducing people with disabilities to their everyday lives, but also to develop the social skills of non-disabled children and adults (e.g. helpfulness, empathy, cooperative skills), as well as personality and community development. At the same time, we also try to draw attention to responsible pet ownership.
